Infrared Humidification
Not as common as the rest of the systems I have listed but still an available system,
this system is not recommended for most applications.
This system is most common in data room control systems such as in "lieberts",
this system uses High-Intensity lights over a reflective pan that holds the water,
as the air passes the pan the moisture is absorbed.
The system will use one of two ways to fill,
the first is the float fill valve the second is a sensor to read when the water
is low or when the water needs to be flushed due to high solids in the water.
It's a fairy simple design.
The Good!
Because the lights do not contact the water directly,
the sediment build up does not make the system loose as much capacity when dirty,
the pan can be removed and cleaned, the lights have a long service life.
The Bad!
Limited capacity compared to some other systems listed above,
because the air passes an open pan some contaminates form the air end up in the pan,
system gets dirty fairly quickly even with RO or DI water.
The Ugly!
The Cost of operation this system costs more than most electric resistance humidifiers.
